There was a time, contemporaneous to that snare, when more vent was in vogue. Theory was the drum was choked by such a small hole. Some guy may have ordered it that way.

Yeah, it makes sense, but apart from "big fish", no one was able to alter the Hilites back in the days...

That only leaves 2 options:
Jeff Tain Watts
or some bigh shot folk/polka drummer ;)

I think the second is more likely... :lol:

Are you sure there were no alterations? Sigs could be altered, but the cost was a 25% hike in price based on suggested retail, in my case not to drill the holes and add tom mounts for two racks and a bass drum, and not to send me the bass mount, tom tower, and tom mounting components, too.
